Deliberate Time
How deliberate are you with your time?
Time is your (and my) most valuable asset.
You cannot make more time.
You have what you have.
And You have a relationship with time.
Using Time.
Passing Time.
Spending Time.
Saving Time.
Wasting Time.
Creating TIme.
Doing Time.
etc.
How are you doing with your time?
What are you doing with your time?
Do you like what you do with your time?
Does it get you closer to what you want, to your goals, and to your big dreams?
My Relationship to Time
I used to think that I did not have enough time. I used to rush around, multi-task, and constantly be busy in an attempt to get more out of my time. Unfortunately, I achieved the opposite. My frantic attempts to get more done resulted in me diminishing the quality of what I was doing and more importantly, my franticness removed me from being present in countless moments of my life.
I cannot create more hours in the day, but I can choose how I spend those hours.
I can watch how I am using my time and then I can decide if there is a better way that I want to spend my time.
I chose to look at time as the most valuable thing I have and to treat it so.
I spend my time doing things that add value to my life. Such as connecting with people whom I love, working towards my goals, spending time with my Self, and tending to my health.
Have you looked at how you are choosing to spend your time?
How much of your time is deliberate?
An exercise to deliberately using your time:
-
Try writing down everything you did in the last 24 hours, the more detailed the better.
-
Then look back over it and see if there are ways that you would prefer to spend your time differently, perhaps more deliberately.
