Client Testimonial Health Shame: Before Story

Client Testimonial Health Shame: Before Story

Hey there, my food and mood friend. Welcome back to my blog. I’ve been pondering the idea of a food and mood revolution, and it feels like my true calling. I’m passionate about helping people take charge of their health, and a significant part of it revolves around our diet, emotions, stress, and lifestyle. I want to de-normalize foods that do not nourish us and NORMALIZE foods that promote our health…. Are you ready to join me on this transformative journey?

To dip our toes into the topic of testimonial shame, I want to share some incredible success stories from my clients. Many of them initially sought my guidance for various reasons, such as weight loss or improved brain productivity. However, as we progressed through our sessions, they revealed additional health issues they were dealing with, like gout, heartburn, fatigue, and anxiety to name a few.

By the end of the program, they experienced radical transformations. Clients shed pounds, their gout vanished, heartburn subsided, and anxiety reduced significantly. These testimonials are inspiring, but there’s something I’ve noticed—they tend to shy away from discussing their health struggles openly… and I see it in the testimonials. They are happy to sing my praises AND reluctant to share their before stories.

It seems that health shame (when it comes to testimonials about THEM) is a common theme among my clients. They feel hesitant to name their ailments or health issues publicly, and I believe it stems from a sense of embarrassment or shame associated with acknowledging health challenges. While I respect their privacy, I personally view sharing personal health struggles as a way to inspire others.

I, too, have battled my share of health issues in the past—eczema, asthma, depression, and anxiety during my teens. Additionally, I struggled with excess weight and constipation. However, what I once considered a curse turned out to be a gift because it taught me the importance of prioritizing my well-being and helped me begin to invest in my health from a young age (which I now feel the benifits of).

I’ve come to realize that 80% of our health is influenced by our environment, which includes our diet and stress levels. By making simple but sustainable changes, we can drastically improve our health. Acknowledging and owning our health struggles can be challenging, as it may feel like admitting weakness or failure. But it is essential to embark on a personal journey of transformation.

My clients’ success stories highlight the potential of transforming our health by nourishing our bodies with clean and nourishing foods while managing stress and emotional well-being (all from a place of love and self care). Even conditions like diabetes, blood insulin levels, and weight issues can be addressed through an improved relationship with food and stress re- education.

Moreover, these lifestyle changes have a profound impact on children as well. For kids with skin conditions, emotional disregulation, or attention issues like ADD or ADHD, dietary modifications can work wonders in improving their overall well-being.

Testimonial shame need not hold us back from sharing our health journeys. Owning our struggles and the desire for change is the first step towards achieving a healthier and happier life. For me, it has been a heart warming (and soul fulfilling) experience to witness my clients reclaim their health and lead the lives they WANT.

Ps… As I continue on this food and mood revolution, I want to make these changes accessible and normal for everyone. I’m working on creating a membership platform where people can benefit from my food and mood program and transform their lives by owning their own health.

If you resonate with my mission and want to be part of this revolution, reach out to me. (I’m starting a small group to get this ball rolling- you could be apart of it). Remember, you are not alone in your health journey, and positive change is within your grasp. Let’s embrace testimonial empowerment and inspire each other to take control of our health.

Thank you for being part of this food and mood thing. I’ll be back soon with more insights and practical tips to help you on your journey to a healthier and vibrant life. Until next time, take care and be well!
