"Time, Focus & Energy" — Alex's Coaching Story

Hi, my name is Alex. I'm a business owner working in two different industries. When I began working with Chandra about a year and a half ago, I had just come out of a couple big projects that had almost entirely consumed my life. The successes were tangible — but so were the failures, and many of the failures were around organization and the great toll those projects took on my health.
The way I had approached projects in the past was simply to muscle through them. Whether it was a day or a many-month project, I used sheer grit to achieve them — and often this came at an incredible cost to my personal well-being.
A Roadmap, Not a Catchphrase
My work early on with Chandra was around time and organizing — how to set priorities, set objectives, and keep a focus on them. But it's easy to throw a couple of catchphrases at someone or toss a self-help book their way and expect that the life they've been living for months and years and the habits they've created are going to change. I needed a lot more than that.
I needed someone to sit down with me, break apart my life, break apart my objectives and goals both personal and professional, and help me figure out a roadmap that allowed me to get to them with ease and success. Chandra helped me find that road. She'd sit down with me at the start of every major project and really talk through what I was trying to do, then support me on a weekly basis — touching back on those objectives to make sure my time and energy were actually on the things that matter to me the most.
From Schedule to Whole-Life Health
If you're here looking at Chandra, then you know she's much more than someone who's going to look at your schedule. She's someone who's going to look at your health in total — and specifically your body's health. Chandra is incredibly passionate about food and how food affects your mood, and how mood affects how you perform. The two are absolutely tied in her philosophy — and I can tell you that they are tied in reality.
When Chandra suggested a diet change, I was maybe unenthusiastic — I was like, let's get back to my schedule. But what began as a six-week experiment into diet change has now just become the mere standard in which I live my life. With a diet change comes so much more vitality, and I can feel it as I approach my projects and my day.
The Super-Athlete Lens
Chandra and I have this idea of a super-athlete we've been tossing around — someone who is aspiring toward excellence in their life. Like any major pro athlete, there's so much more than just going to practices and doing drills. It's an entire lifestyle: diet, sleep, rest, off time, on time. The whole holistic picture factors into success on game day.
I know she's going to laugh that I'm including this, but behind every great athlete is, of course, a great coach. Chandra is that great coach.
