Program · 4 Months
A four-month, one-to-one container for the person who already knows the problem is not what to eat. The problem is what happens before you eat — the emotion, the habit, the pattern your body learned a long time ago. Food and Mood works at that root, built on the Mood Before Food methodology.
The Premise
You already know what to eat. That is almost never the problem. The problem is what shows up before you reach for the food — the tightening in your chest, the rushing, the quiet exhaustion at the end of the day, the moment your kid finally goes to bed and you walk to the pantry without remembering deciding to.
Most food-and-eating work starts with the food. Mood Before Food starts one step earlier. Once you have tools to recognise the state you are in and regulate from there, your food choices begin to shift on their own. The willpower contest goes away because there is no longer a contest. You are no longer eating from a dysregulated body looking for relief.
This is the methodology underneath my book chapter and every coaching pathway I run. You can read the full teaching at the Mood Before Food methodology page — this program is the four-month, one-to-one container where you actually embody it.
Two Paths. One Destination.
I offer two longer-form programs, and the work meets in the same place. Whether you enter through food or through embodiment, the destination is the same: regulate your nervous system, heal the patterns running underneath, and embody the values you want the next generation to inherit.
Food and Mood is the door you enter when food and your body are the loudest signal — when you can feel that the relationship with food is the place the patterns are showing up most clearly, and you want to start there.
Functional Embodiment is the door you enter when the body itself, parenting, relationships, or integration is where the patterns are surfacing — when food is not the loudest signal but the nervous system clearly is.
Both rest on the same Mood Before Food methodology. Both work with the body first. If you are not sure which door is yours, a free 15-minute intro is the place to sort it out together.
The Shape
Four months is long enough to interrupt a pattern your body has been running for years. It is also short enough that you can see the beginning, the middle, and the end from where you stand today.
The first month we slow down enough to feel what is actually happening in your body in the moments around food — before, in the middle of, after. You learn to name the body cues that tend to precede a reach for food when you are not hungry. The naming alone shifts a lot. The first big step is awareness.
The middle two months we work with what is underneath the cues — the inherited beliefs about food, body, hunger, deserving, provision. The emotional pattern your body learned to outsource to food. The inner-child layer underneath the reaching. We do this slowly, in session, with practice that lives in the body and not on a worksheet.
The fourth month the new pattern starts to feel like yours. Not a technique you remember to deploy when you remember to — a new default your body returns to when stress arrives. You leave with the methodology in your nervous system, not in a binder.
The Container
One-to-one weekly coaching sessions with me. Video, from the comfort of your own home, the whole way through. The sessions are tailored to the specific moments you are navigating in your week — not a curriculum, not a script.
Short teaching videos between sessions. The methodology is taught in small, somatic pieces — not long lectures, not homework piles. Most modules are under fifteen minutes and end with a body-based practice you can take into your week.
Between-session support. The moments that move this work do not always happen in session. You have a way to reach me between sessions when something real surfaces and you want a small piece of guidance to meet it.
Sustainable practices, not willpower. Every practice you leave with is body-based and small enough to do in the moment you need it. No food rules. No tracking. No protocols you have to remember to keep. The practice is the noticing, and you practice it in real life.
Real Clients
The Mood Before Food methodology is the foundation underneath every coaching relationship I run. These three are emotional-eating clients who entered through the food door.
I'm free… No more cravings. I overcame emotional eating, boosted my energy, and transformed my life in just 3 months. At 65, I finally feel like myself again.
I've lost 44 pounds — but the bigger shift was my anxiety. Instead of a big scattered anxiety ball of mess, I can interrupt the intrusive thoughts now. It sounds cheesy, but it's actually life-changing.
Chandra's Food and Mood program works — it is the best I have seen. The relational approach Chandra offers is what emotional eaters NEED.

Common Questions
It is a four-month, one-to-one container built around the Mood Before Food methodology — the premise that the state your nervous system is in when you eat determines what your body does with the food. We work on the mood layer first: the body cues, the emotional patterns, the inherited beliefs that drive reaching for food when you are not hungry. The food layer shifts on its own once the mood layer settles.
There is no meal plan. There is no food list. There is no shame and no willpower contest. This program does not tell you what to eat. It teaches you to recognise the state you are in before you eat, regulate it, and meet your real hunger from there. The methodology is body-first and pattern-focused. You leave with a relationship to food that is steady because it is rooted in your nervous system, not in a rulebook.
This program is built for emotional eating, binge patterns, and the stress-eating loop. It works well alongside clinical care for clients who are stabilised post-treatment and ready for a body-sovereignty repair container. If you are in the acute phase of a diagnosed eating disorder, the right next step is a clinical team — and we can talk about whether this work fits later. A free 15-minute intro is the place to start that conversation.
A weekly one-to-one coaching session with me, a teaching video to watch on your own, and a small embodied practice to take into the week between us. The video work is short and somatic — not lectures, not homework piles. Most of the shift happens in the moments you would have reached for food, when you notice the body cue first and meet what is underneath it.
No. You need to be willing to slow down enough to feel what is happening in your body, and willing to look at the patterns underneath the reaching. If you have done therapy or somatic work before, you will find the methodology lands faster. If you have not, the entry point is gentle and the practice teaches itself as we go.
If you can feel that the work is in you and not in your food, you are ready. You do not need to have your patterns figured out. You need to be willing to bring them into the room with one person who has been there and can help you metabolise what surfaces.
Work With Me
Mood Before Food is the methodology underneath all of my work. You can step into it as a single session, as the four-month program, or by reading my chapter in Handbook for Human Potential. Wherever you start, the work is the same: regulate the body, meet what is underneath, embody the values you want to live by.
